A Newport Tennessee Alderwoman And Two Newport Police Captains Are Among Four People Indicted In A Misconduct And Money Laundering Case. The Tennessee Bureau Of Investigation Said The Probe Revealed Captain James Holt Allegedly Bought And Sold Stolen Goods And Bought And Sold Prescription Drugs While On Duty. Holt’s Wife, Kathy Holt, His Son, Kenneth Myers And Captain Roger Schults, All Allegedly Participated In The Illegal Activity. Holt Is Charged With Ten Counts Of Official Misconduct, Eight Counts Of Money Laundering And Five Counts Of Sale And Delivery Of A Controlled Substance. The Others Face Lesser Charges Of Conspiracy.
