The Washington County Tennessee Commission’s Budget Committee Is Expected To Consider A Resolution That Would Help East Tennessee State University Begin Construction On Its New Fine Arts Facility. The Resolution, Which Will Be Considered On October 27th, Calls For The County To Use One Million Dollars Of Its General Fund To Go Towards The Construction Of The 40-Million Dollar Facility. The One-Million Dollar Gift Would Result In Three Million More Coming From The State Since There’s A 25-Percent Match. The Goal Is For ETSU To Raise 10.6 Million Dollars By December 31st In Order To Get 30.6 Million In Capital Match Funding. So Far, The School Has 6.3 Million Dollars On Hand.
