William “Bill” Austin Trailer

A LONG-TIME TRI CITIES RADIO AND TELEVISION ANNOUNCER HAS PASSED AWAY. 93 YEAR OLD WILLIAM “BILL” AUSTIN TRAILER DIED ON PATRIOT DAY SEPTEMBER 11TH LOCALLY, HE BEGAN WORKING AT WKPT-FM RADIO IN 1959 AS A DISC JOCKEY AND LATER WORKED FOR BOTH WKPT RADIO AND TV. HE WAS WELL KNOWN AS THE HOST OF “DIALING FOR DOLLARS”. TRAILER WAS AN EMPLOYEE OF HOLSTON VALLEY BROADCASTING FOR ABOUT 30 YEARS. HE WAS ALSO A WORLD WAR TWO VETERAN. THE MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR TRAILER WILL BE HELD AT 7 P.M. THIS EVENING AT HOLY TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH ON BROAD STREET IN KINGSPORT. THE FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS FOLLOWING THE SERVICE. OAK HILL FUNERAL HOME IS IN CHARGE OF ARRANGMENTS. TRAILER IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE, HARRIETT.
