The Group, “Friends Of Abingdon”, Is Seeking To Get The Virginia Supreme Court To Reverse A Lower Court Decision In Its Efforts Opposing A Controversial Shopping Center And Sports Complex. A Petition Was Filed By The Group’s Attorney Last Week With The State’s High Court Challenging A Circuit Court Ruling That Allowed A Rezoning Order To Stand. Town Leaders Rezoned The 73-Acre Tract Of Land, Known As The Meadows, To Accommodate A Planned Food City Grocery Store, Retail Center And Youth Sports Complex.
