THE TENNESSEE DEPARTMENT OF SAFETY AND TENNESSEE HIGHWAY PATROL HAVE ANNOUNCED AN INTENSIVE JOINT INITIATIVE WITH ALABAMA AND MISSISSIPPI TO REDUCE TRAFFIC FATALITIES AND SAVE LIVES DURING THE UPCOMING THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY PERIOD. THE INITIATIVE “TAKE BACK OUR HIGHWAYS” WILL PLACE ALL AVAILABLE LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS ON PATROL DUTY DURING THE ENTIRE THANKSGIVING WEEK OF NOVEMBER 19TH THROUGH THE 25TH. LAW ENFORCEMENT IN ALL THREE STATES WILL PRIMARILY TARGET DRIVERS WHO SPEED AND DRIVE WHILE INTOXICATED.
