The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating an incident in Morristown Tennessee in which a helicopter pilot was partially decapitated when he was struck in the head by his helicopter’s rotor. Harold “Gene” Jones, a Gilbert, West Virginia-based pilot, was killed in the accident. Jones had just helped his passengers with their luggage after landing Friday afternoon. He was walking back to the craft when witnesses said the wind tilted the helicopter toward him and the main rotor struck him in the head. The investigation could take some time to complete.
