A WASHINGTON COUNTY TENNESSEE WOMAN WHO STABBED HER HUSBAND TO DEATH ON A DARE HAS BEEN ORDERED TO SPEND TIME BEHIND BARS. 48 YEAR OLD SHERRY CLAWSON CONVICTED OF VOLUNTARY MANSLAUGHTER WAS SENTENCED YESTERDAY TO FIVE YEARS IN JAIL. CLAWSON WAS CONVICTED OF STABBING HER HUSBAND, 49 YEAR OLD RONNIE CLAWSON, WITH A STEAK KNIFE IN JULY OF LAST YEAR FOLLOWING A DAY OF PICNICING, SWIMMING, DRINKING, AND USING DRUGS ON THE BANKS OF THE NOLICHUCKY RIVER. CLAWSON COULD BE RELEASED IN AS LITTLE AS 18 MONTHS HOWEVER. CLAWSON’S ATTORNEY, GENE SCOTT, IS ASKING THAT HIS CLIENT RECEIVE PROBATION, AS WELL AS JUDICIAL DIVERSION. THE JUDGE WILL ANNOUNCE HIS DECISION AT A LATER DATE.
