Kingsport Educational Leaders Have Voted To Give Superintendent Dr. Jeff Moorhouse A Financial Boost. Revisions To His Contract Include Raising His Travel Allowance To 600-Dollars Per Month And Increasing His Home Office Allowance To 275-Dollars Per Month. The School System Will Also Start Contributing 3-Percent Of His Compensation To A Retirement Plan. Lastly, He’ll Receive A One-Time Lump-Sum Payout At Retirement Equal To Three Years Of 20-Percent Of Compensation At The Time Of Retirement. These Changes Come Following The Passage Of The “Hold Harmless” Provisions By The State, Which Prevents Performance Evaluations From Being Based On Test Scores And Other Parameters During The Pandemic.
