A SULLIVAN COUNTY SCHOOL TEACHER, ACCUSED OF DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE, IS WITHOUT A JOB THIS MORNING. THE BOARD OF EDUCATION VOTED LAST NIGHT TO FIRE PAULA MCGLOTHLIN FROM HER JOB AT KINGSLEY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. MCGLOTHLIN WAS SUSPENDED EARLIER THIS YEAR. SHE HAD BEEN PREVIOUSLY DISCIPLINED FOR BEING HIGH OR UNDER THE INFLUENCE WHILE AT SCHOOL, BEING IN THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK WITHOUT PERMISSION, AND GETTING INTO ANOTHER TEACHER’S PURSE AT SCHOOL. SHE’S A FORMER MISS JOHNSON CITY AND WAS FIRST RUNNER UP IN THE 1989 MISS TENNESSEE PAGEANT.
