The State Has Set Sullivan County’s Certified Property Tax Rate At $1.61 Per 100 Dollars Of Assessed Value, Down From Last Year’s Rate Of $2.49. County Finance Director Larry Bailey Told Committee Members He Believes The County Can Manage With A Tax Increase Of 10 Cents Or Less As Officials Continue Working On The Fiscal 2026 Budget. The Certified Rate Is Calculated By The State Following The Recent Property Reappraisal And Is Designed To Generate The Same Amount Of Revenue As The Previous Year. The Budget Committee Is Still Working On Next Year’s Spending Plan.
